Bio

Mio Suzuki is the Founder and Chief Strategist of MOD+M (Modern Minds), where she helps traditional businesses turn AI from abstract ambition into bottom-line impact. With over a decade of experience bridging deep tech, AI, and business transformation, Mio specializes in helping non-tech industries adopt AI practically and profitably—especially those operating within the constraints of legacy systems, tight budgets, and complex stakeholder environments.

Before founding MOD+M, Mio led AI and advanced technology initiatives at Trek Bicycle, where she introduced AI across core business functions, launched generative AI pilots, and spearheaded edge computing projects for smart cycling products. Her work spans multiple domains—from predictive analytics and embedded systems to spatial computing and XR interfaces—earning her recognition as a strategist who can translate complex technical potential into actionable business value.

At MOD+M, Mio has built a structured, low-risk framework for AI adoption that helps SMBs identify high-impact use cases, assess feasibility, and create execution-ready roadmaps. Her approach demystifies AI for executives, empowers teams through change management, and focuses on quick wins that build trust and momentum. She has helped companies in industries like manufacturing, logistics, and consumer goods implement AI for better forecasting, customer insights, and inventory optimization.

A UC Berkeley-trained engineer with an EMBA in Strategy and Innovation, Mio has also held research roles at institutions like the University of Wisconsin and worked at the intersection of science, product development, and business leadership throughout her career. She’s passionate about bridging the AI adoption gap in traditional industries and enabling organizations to embrace emerging tech with clarity, confidence, and measurable results.
